As the Internet’s popularity increased and more and more businesses were developing corporate websites; it became more and more evident that Connecticut businesses were getting lost in the national search engines. Not being able to find a local business on the Internet frustrated CTPhoneBook.com founder Alan Mardirosian. “It was very difficult to find local products or local service providers on the Internet, without sifting through thousands of ‘search results’ in Yahoo!, Alta Vista, MSN and others”, Mardirosian affirmed. He sought to change that and in June of 2000, after a year and a half of research and development, CTPhoneBook.com was launched. It began as a privately owned company residing in Newington, Connecticut. Mardirosian reflected on earlier times; “Getting companies to buy into the concept of Internet advertising was challenging enough, but getting them to believe in my vision of creating a website where Internet users could come to and find a local Connecticut business for their products and/or services - was even more difficult”. One Connecticut corporation President in particular, not only shared the vision, but recognized the value of the service CTPhoneBook.com was providing to Connecticut and wanted to get involved. That company was New Wave Industries, Inc.

In May of 2002, Jon Paul Rondeau, President of New Wave Industries, Inc. approached CTPhoneBook.com. In October 2002, their legal teams put the finishing touches on the agreement and New Wave Industries, Inc. became an equity interest partner in CTPhoneBook.com. “I’m very excited to be involved in the CTPhoneBook.com project.
